Is there a "Jake Brake indicator" that can be installed on VMSpc? I have a Detroit 60 with MH4000 trans.

Hello DJ It may be coded as SPN 5098 or 3987 or not at all. While those correspond to the DD-60 you referenced, they may not be activated. Much depends on the year and its computer program as 'firmware.' Thats also a bit out of the scope of our specialty...but... To test this out: Either set up a couple gauges referencing these PIDs...and drive, using the Compression brakes and eyeballing the gauges. Or Open up the PID sniffer: [Advanced] [PID Sniffer] THEN go for a drive, have your sweetie watch the sniffer for which codes appear as you apply the Jake Brake. If none appear then, that was a 2 Gallon Lesson. Be sure to post your results here for the other Detroit Diesels listening in... cheers Art Documentation Central, Silverleaf Electronics (888) 741-0259
