The final release of VMSpc 2.2 doesn't work

I'm using the VMSpc Beta 2.2 software which works just fine with my system. However, I would like some of the extra features such as Horspower gage from the final release but that release won't communicate with my JIB. The software works just fine but it just doesn't find the JIB. I've seemed to try everything but no joy. My JIB has the com port out and I use the Com port to USB adapter purchased from you folks. When I view the hardware through "My Computer", the computer sees the port and the software is set to the same port number but nothing happens. Any thoughts?

VMSpc 2.2 doesn't work

What error is the Communications giving you?

The Status reading indicates the current communications status. When you change ports, or first start VMSpc, it will read “Starting”. Within a few seconds it should change to one of the following:

OK Good news! VMSpc is receiving vehicle data.

PC Port Failure
VMSpc can’t open the indicated port. It doesn’t exist, or another program has claimed it for itself.

Failure Between JIB and PC
VMSpc found the port, but no data is coming from the JIB. Check to see whether the LEDs on the JIB are lit, and that the PC cable is tight.

Failure Between Engine and JIB
VMSpc found the JIB, but the JIB is not getting data from the vehicle. Make sure the key is on, and the engine ECM has power.

The final release of VMSpc 2.2 doesn't work

The error message is PC Port Failure. However, if I go back to the beta release of 2.2, the system works fine using the same port (com 8). The only difference in the setup is final release of 2.2, which I can't get to work at all, and the beta release of 2.2, which works just fine. However, the beta release doesn't provide the torque gages that I want.

Re:The final release of VMSpc 2.2 doesn't work

The MAIN addition to VMSpc 2.2 was Torque and Horsepower..

When you downloaded the VMSpc 2.2 Beta, there were some instructions that you were to follow:

"After installing, run the VMSEdit program once - just start the program and immediately click
"Ok" to quit. (This will update your parameter list without overwriting any parameter
changes you may have already made.)"

There is practly No Difference between the VMSpc 2.2 Beta and the VMSpc 2.2 GA (IBM ism, for General Avalibility).

If the Beta version works for you, then keep using it...

cruise speed lamp

Suddednly, on my most recent trip, the cruise speed lamp stays green no matter the setting of the cruise control. I tried deleting the entire gauge and then creating a new gauge but no change in behavior. Help! I'm running version 2.2

Re:cruise speed lamp

Does the Cruise Speed Lamp that you created in the Parameter Editor program still look the same as when it was entered?

Does the Cruise Set Speed guage look correct and work like it has prevously?

Have you had any engine work done recently?
